Pierre Mang

Pierre Mang
We are over the moon to welcome the outstanding wines of Pierre Mang! One of the most alluring (and tiny!) production projects coming out of Burgundy right now, we were delighted to visit in early 2023 and quickly begged for an allocation of these moving beauties. At first taste you'll know why. Pierre's career in wine is relatively new, but his wine-sume (like resume, but wine) is impeccably loaded. Beginning wine school in Beaune in 2018, he has worked for, learned from and blossomed friendships with accomplished winemakers like Jean-Yves Bizot, Philippe Valette & Alexandre Jouveaux. In the spring of 2019, Pierre received an exceedingly rare offer to buy a small plot (0.8 hectares) of chardonnay and pinot noir in the commune of Plottes in Macôn. He could not pass up such exceptional terrain – it had never seen any chemicals, is surrounded by forest & completely safeguarded from neighbours – and thus his first vintage was born. Pierre now cultivates 2.5 hectares in the south of Burgundy where he completes all the vinification and fieldwork himself. Pierre has said that he tries to make wines in the simplest way, expressing the terroir and vintage as transparently as possible ~ what sweet sentiments, we thank goodness they are finally here!
